Some Interesting Facts * 75% of people in the western world are chronically dehydrated. (This likely applies to half the world's population). * In 37% of people, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger. * Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 13%. * One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters investigated in a University of Washington study. * Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue. * Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. * A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic maths, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page. * Studies conclude that drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. * About 2 million tons of waste are dumped every day into rivers, lakes and streams. For all of us, the regular intake of pure, clean mineralized water is a fundamental requirement of health. Our bodies are 75% water and this needs to be replenished and maintained daily. Our health and life depend upon it! Many of the common, and often serious illnesses, now being experienced in the world, are in many cases associated with a water deficiency. Stress levels increase significantly when we are deficient in high quality, pure water. Chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, anger, etc. can all be linked back to dehydration. Our bodies are now increasingly over-acidic and therefore more prone to disease. We lack the the right type and balance of essential minerals required for health. Those people who have lived for many years without proper water intake are the most likely to suffer from the consequences of the build up of toxins in the body. Chronic disease can be the direct consequence of dehydration. Many of the major diseases now being experienced in the western world are preceded by a period of 'internal drought'. Water deficiency in the brain tissue will cut down its energy supply and thereby depress many of its functions. Energy required by brain cells (which in themselves are 85% water) is derived from water. The brain depends greatly on this self-generated source of energy to maintain its many and complex processes. Our whole state of health is dependent upon a clean and regular supply of clean, mineralised, alkaline water. Without it, our energy falls, our bodies need to work harder, bacteria and disease develops and our life-span is shortened. Modern water supplies CANNOT supply us with our essential water needs. We need to take that responsibility back to ourselves and to find better ways of addressing this increasing concern.
